All imported honey is irradiated by law. The Chinese honey industry is known to mix rice, corn, and other syrups in their honey. It’s extremley cheap, because you get what you pay for. In 2018, honey from Zambia brought American Foulbrood disease into the country – for the second time.

Unlike other bulk honey suppliers in South Africa that import from China, Uruguay, Brazil, and more, our wholesale honey is taken directly from local beekeepers and apiaries. The risks with imported honey is too high, which is why we specialise in South African bulk honey only.
