Fynbos vs. Wild Blossom Honey: Are they Different?

Dec 30, 2024 | About Honey | 0 comments

Fynbos honey and wild blossom honey are NOT the same.

Here’s why:

Fynbos honey originates specifically from plants in the fynbos biome of the Cape Floral Kingdom of South Africa, in the Western and Eastern Capes. Whereas wildflower honey is produced from a variety of plants in any region in the world, and not specifically the fynbos region.

That’s why you’ll find wild blossom honey (also known as wild flower and multifloral honey) produced all over the world. Fynbos honey is always local to the Cape Floral Kingdom. There are no fynbos biomes outside South Africa.

Because of this, fynbos honey is usually more expensive and less common than wildflower varieties.
